An exhibition of augmented reality exploring ownership, censorship and piracy in the digital age.
In this age of digital experiences, free-flowing information and the abundance of cameras in the hands of the public, we ask what role authenticity plays in our understanding of artist’s work, how originality is warped, and where ownership lies within the digital domain.
Using 1980’s sci-fi thriller ‘They Live’ as an inspiration, The World is Yours explores ideas of ownership, censorship and piracy in the digital age. Using augmented reality at its core, this is an exhibition that exists everywhere and nowhere – referencing publicly available imagery hosted in the cloud, owning nothing and asks no permission in bringing art to your fingertips.
The World Is Yours is part of Margate Film Festival 23-27th October 2019
